Our Story

We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the community. Our founder and Executive Director, Venita C Dell, was only a teenager when she witnessed her childhood friend being physically abused by her mother rather than receiving the stability, support and encouragement she truly needed during that unplanned event in her life.

At age thirteen, Venita vowed someday she would work to provide a safe place for other young mothers to grow into responsible loving moms. She began writing her business plan at 13 and completed it while traveling with her high school sweetheart in the United States Navy.

After many tours with her naval officer Venita, returned to her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio in 2004. She was finally able to make her dream of a reality by incorporating Helping Young Mothers Mentor. She received her certificate from the State of Ohio in 2007 and began her journey.

As our organization grows our goal and mission are to partner with organizations that believe in "create a self-sufficient youth for a better tomorrow while changing 2LIVES because "EVERY MOTHER MATTERS.

Venita research countless hours and have found that "between 40% and 60% of our young mothers living on the street have had a least one pregnancy." In the United States, three out of every 10 girls become pregnant by the age of 20. Furthermore, the United States has the highest rate of teen pregnancy and birth rate than any other country. With facts, the "young mother pregnancy and parenthood are associated with a higher chance of dropping out of school, poorer paying jobs, and younger  parents are more likely to live in poverty to allude them to fall in the category of a young mother.  The United States has a higher infant mortality rate than any of the other 27 wealthy countries, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control. A baby born in the U.S. is nearly three times as likely to die during her first year of life as one born in Finland or Japan. That same American baby is about twice as likely to die in her first year as a Spanish or Korean one. Cincinnati has a high rate of low birth rate delivers less than twenty-eight weeks.

Helping Young Mother's Mentor is a much-needed program in our community and is helping to reduce mental adverse childhood barriers while educating our young mothers the importance in reducing the infant mortality rate in Cincinnati by targeting the mother's needs.

We believe our mother's needs are of the utmost importance and our entire team of volunteers, vetted committed mentors and sponsors are we meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of referral services from hospitals, social service agencies, schools, community centers, church's word of mouth is making a difference.

We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the community.
